ZACHARY — A number of groups will participate in a community cleanup campaign Friday, and residents and businesses are asked to join the effort.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., members of the Zachary Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, students, Boy Scout troops and city employees will pick up litter throughout the city and focus on sweeping Main Street.
The street-sweeping effort will begin at 9 a.m. at the historic railroad depot on Main Street. Business owners and managers are asked to sweep dirt and roadway grit to the street, and street sweeper trucks will begin operating at noon, said Chip Mills, spokesman for the Chamber of Commerce.
For more information, contact Rotarian Carrie McGehee, with Land Mark Bank, or Mills at the chamber office.
