The Ninth annual Yellow Leaf Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in St. Francisville.

Fifty-five artists, craftsmen, musicians and other talented individuals will display and sell their work in Parker Park.

Book sale

While you’re in St. Francisville on Saturday, stop by the Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to browse through the used books, DVDs and tapes offered for sale by The Friends of the West Feliciana Library.

Sweet potato sale

West Feliciana 4-H members are selling 40-pound boxes of Louisiana sweet potatoes for $20 per box.

Friday is the deadline for placing an order.

Steam trains running

The Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders will host its Second annual Trainfest and live “steam up” event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the club’s facility in Jackson, 3406 College St.

Admission is free.

Indoor and outdoor model trains in all scales will be running, including live steam model locomotives.

Safety bands offered

Zachary and Banners and Signs By Design are offering free “glow bracelets” to children who are Halloween trick-or-treating from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Pick up the bracelets starting Friday at Zachary’s fire station, police station or City Hall.

Halloween happenings

• The Jackson Tourism Enhancement Committee’s “Spooktacular” will be operating from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday on College Street in Jackson, from its intersection with Charter Street to Centenary State Historic Site.

The street will be blocked for children to enjoy story-telling, apple bobbing and candy giveaways

• Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site, St. Francisville, will present Rosedown Funeral and Soul Stories from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The staff will re-enact the wake and funeral of Daniel Turnbull, who died Oct. 30, 1861.

• Audubon State Historic Site, St. Francisville, presents All Hallows Eve, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, to explore Halloween traditions from the early 1800s.

Lane events

Lane Regional Medical Center will offer a free prenatal class at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Staff Development Classroom. “The Pregnancy Workshop” is an overview of what to expect for the soon-to-be mom.

The Lane Mind and Body Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, 6180 Main St., in Zachary.
