ST. FRANCISVILLE — West Feliciana Parish sheriff’s detectives arrested five suspects Tuesday and Wednesday in the reported home-invasion robbery of a 75-year-old Tunica man, Sheriff J. Austin Daniel said.
The victim told sheriff’s deputies he was robbed at gunpoint about 2:15 a.m. Friday by men who first knocked on his door asking for help in getting their car started, Daniel said.
When the man said his car was not running and he could not jump-start their vehicle, three men entered the home and robbed him of his wallet containing $400 in cash, Daniel said. The victim also said one of the men kicked him in the abdomen as they left.
Daniel said an investigation led by Maj. Archer Lee resulted in the arrests of Darryl W. Minor, 31, 11958 La. 967, St. Francisville; Kyle L. Templeton, 18, 5190 Norwood Road, Tunica; Kerstein Mullen, 22, 9857 Street D, Apt. 35, St. Francisville; and Zachary D. Ivey, 18, 7510 Carah Drive, St. Francisville.
Each of the four were booked with armed robbery with a firearm, while Ivey also was booked with simple battery.
Deputies also arrested Tyler Bonnette, 17, 13 Redbird St., Angola, and booked him with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Lee said the conspiracy count stemmed from Bonnette’s alleged participation in an attempt to rob the same man earlier. That planned holdup was called off, however, Lee said.
