CLINTON — An East Feliciana Parish man used his pickup truck to block the escape of two men he surprised coming out of his home on La. 68 Friday afternoon, a spokesman for Sheriff Talmadge Bunch said.
Sheriff’s Detective Terry Miller said the men also are suspected of burglarizing the property owner’s woodworking shop and taking a variety of power tools on Oct. 14.
They returned on Friday, but the owner surprised them when he returned home and spotted them coming out of his house with hand tools he had moved from the shop for safekeeping, Miller said.
The homeowner pulled his truck up to the bumper of the suspects’ Dodge Durango while he was calling the Sheriff’s Office, Miller said.
Sheriff’s deputies found one of the power tools stolen on Oct. 14 in the Durango, the detective said.
Detectives booked Randall Dennis Wright, 24, and Alexander Blake McGrew, 26, both of 3046 Nesom Road, Clinton, with two counts of simple burglary, Miller said.
The two also are suspects in several other recent burglaries in the parish, including break-ins at the home of Wright’s grandparents and another break-in in which weapons were stolen, Miller said.
