East Feliciana Parish basketball team Feliciana Dream, coached by Adrian Dunn, of East Feliciana High School, is participating in a summer league initiated by Zachary High coach Kenny Almond.

Almond said he’d like to see Baker, Northeast and West Feliciana teams compete next summer.

“Initially, Baker signed on to play but had to drop out at the last minute, but we hope they return next summer along with Northeast High and West Feliciana,” Almond said. “This gives players an opportunity to hone their skills over the summer and something healthy and constructive to do.”

Besides the Feliciana Dream, competing in the league are teams from Central, Denham Springs, Mentorship Academy, Parkview and Zachary.

Teams tip off on Tuesdays and Thursdays at ZHS beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the final game ending about 8:30 p.m.

Recently, the Feliciana Dream traveled to Arkansas to compete in the Festival City Shootout, billed as a Southern basketball showcase that included squads from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas.

Everyone is invited to cheer on the players at 7:30 p.m. June 25, when Feliciana Dream plays Central at ZHS.
