In a push to get residents to vote in the Oct. 24 primary election, representatives from Registrar of Voters Offices will be visiting communities throughout the state during Voter Registration Week, which ends Friday. However, residents will have until Sept. 23 to register to vote.
Bobbie G. Ross, registrar of East Feliciana Parish, is encouraging residents to register or update their information by visiting geauxvote.com or the Registrar of Voters Office, 11048 Bank St., in Clinton.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Also, eligible voters ages 17 and older can register at any Office of Motor Vehicles office and at public assistance agencies, schools and libraries.

Council on Aging activities
The East Feliciana Parish Council on Aging, 11102 Bank St., in Clinton is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Most activities for seniors start at 11 a.m.; lunch is served at noon.
East Feliciana Public Transit offers transportation Monday through Friday to East Baton Rouge Parish for the elderly.

Clinton Market scheduled
The start of September means three things: school, football and the Clinton Community Market.
Held the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., everyone is invited to find a treasure or two from the vendors surrounding Courthouse Square.
Artisans and farmers will be selling handcrafted jewelry and leather goods, homemade baked goods and treats, and homegrown produce.

Hunter safety course
A hunter’s safety course sponsored by 20th Judicial District Attorney Sam D’Aquilla’s Office is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the American Legion Hall, 12024 Liberty Highway, in Clinton.
Topics covered will include an introduction to hunter education; getting to know your firearms; basic shooting and hunting skills; primitive hunting equipment and techniques; learning to become a safe, responsible and ethical hunter; preparation and survival skills; and understanding wildlife.
Participants must attend both days of the course to become certified. Seating is limited, and the class will fill up.
The course is Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries approved.

East Feliciana, St. Helena and part of West Feliciana Parish (east of U.S. 61) follow the Deer Area 4 schedule, while West Feliciana west of U.S. 61 follows Dear Area 6.
