Silliman’s homecoming court announced _lowres

Silliman Institute’s 2015 homecoming court, which includes maids, football escorts and crown bearers, has been announced.

Maids are Maggie Bishop, Fallon Hutchinson, Abby Kent, Allie Ann Newstrom, Kari Overland, Maddie Trahan and Callie Venable.

Their respective football escorts are John Dylan Cook, Will Douglas, Michael Beauchamp, Jacob Hodges, Brian Siebert, Zach Kelly and Cole Jackson.

Crown bearers are Ryan Gayle and Abigail Templet.

Students in seventh through 12th grades began building floats on Monday in preparation for the school’s annual homecoming parade, which will leave from Silliman at 10:15 a.m. Friday and proceed along Bank Street to the Courthouse Square in downtown Clinton.

Once the procession returns to the school, students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. but will return at 2 p.m. for a pep rally.

At 6 p.m., prior to the Wildcats’ game against Central Private, Silliman’s Homecoming court will be presented and the queen announced.

Dance teams and cheerleaders will perform at halftime.

On Saturday, seventh- through 12th-graders and their dates are invited to attend the homecoming dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At 8:15 p.m., the queen and court will be presented. Doors to the dance will then close and remain locked until 10:30 p.m.
