The East Feliciana Parish Chamber of Commerce welcomed new members Darryl and Glenda Fournier, owners and operators of Graceland Portable Buildings, 4133 La. 10, in Jackson, on March 19.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in conjunction with Feliciana Trade Days, which was started by the Fourniers, residents of West Feliciana Parish.
Refreshments were served, and a miniature replica of the parish courthouse in Clinton, valued at $50, was raffled at the event.
Feliciana Trade Days, an arts and crafts market, is held every third Saturday of the month at La. 10 and Line Road on five acres of the Graceland property.
Darryl Fournier took over operating the business in November 2014. A friend started the company in 2013.
“Feliciana Trade Days is something I came up with to create an economic boost in the area,” Fournier said. “The event has become its own entity. My wife is from Jackson, and we love it up here. We love the country.”
The Fourniers said they’ve recruited a few vendors from the Clinton Community Market, which is held the first Saturday of every month, and from the market in Livingston.
Graceland, which also sells carport structures and playsets and has U-Haul rentals, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call (225) 772-5296 or (225) 719-2199 for information.
