Livestock barn hosting mini-farm tours

Mini-farm tours at the parish livestock barn in St. Francisville will be open Friday, Jan. 19. The mini-farm will have animals, interactive exhibits about agriculture in Louisiana and exhibits from agriculture-related agencies.

All Head Start through fifth-grade classes as well as day care centers are invited. 

Contact the West Feliciana 4-H office at (225) 635-3614 or by Wednesday, Jan. 17, to set up a visit. Time slots are every 15 minutes between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. and are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meet the doctors

Join the staff and physicians of Lane Regional Medical Center for a meet-and-greet from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the Lane Cafeteria to welcome our newest specialists. Refreshments will be served.

MLK Service Day

The West Feliciana Education Foundation is holding a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 15. At least 30 volunteers are needed to paint the 10 bathrooms at West Feliciana Middle School. Visit to sign up. All supplies are provided.

Football banquet

The West Feliciana High School Football Banquet will be Feb. 1 at South of the Border. Tickets are $15, available in the office after 10 a.m. Football players admitted free.  

Service scholarship

The deadline for the Women's Service League's Community service scholarship is April 13.

The $1,000 scholarship is for a graduating high school senior in West Feliciana. Applicants must organize and lead a service activity as well as submit the application by the deadline. Application and requirements are available from the guidance counselor at West Feliciana High School or by emailing

4-H journalism class
