The Rev. Jimmy Drake is the new pastor of Refuge Worship Center in Clinton, a news release from Refuge Ministries Inc. said.

Drake is one of the original members of Refuge Worship Center, where he and his wife, Lillian, continue to serve.

Lillian Drake is a worship leader, psalmist and soloist.

Following Drake’s ordination to the ministry five years ago, he served in several capacities under the leadership of then-pastor Isiah George, the release said.

Most recently, Drake served as the center’s assistant pastor of administration.

The public is invited to attend an installation service for Drake, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Refuge Worship Center, 9415 Plank Road, Clinton. Presiding over the service will be apostle Elmo Winters, of Faith Bible Ministries, Baton Rouge.

Following his installation, Drake will serve under the leadership of Bishop Ewart Forde, founding bishop of Refuge Ministries, and will be supported by the Refuge Worship Center’s board of elders, the release said.

“The installation of a new pastor comes at a pivotal time for our church following the resignation of outgoing Pastor Isiah George,” Refuge Worship member Ashley Ferguson said.
