Audubon Library to rock summer

Audubon Regional Library is hosting "Libraries Rock" on June 4 through Aug. 2. Many events already are scheduled, including the Summer Reading Kick Off with Rhythm/Soul featuring Terrance Morgan and Tyler Wilson, which will take place at 1 p.m. in Clinton and 3:30 p.m. in Jackson.

Other events include Matthew Noel, The Magic Yo-yo on June 11; Music Camp with Nanette Egros on July 10; Storyteller Sylvia Davis on July 16; and Curtis Pierre, the Samba Man of New Orleans, on Aug. 2.

Adopt a pet

Must Luv Summertime & Dogs adoption event and low-cost microchip clinic is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Petsense, 58755 Main St., Zachary.

Microchipping your pet is $25. Walk-ins are welcome, but pet owners can pre-register at mustluvdogs@gmail.com.

Garden event opens registration

The Southern Garden Symposium in St. Francisville will be celebrating its 30 years with the theme "The Changing Nature of Gardening" on Oct. 19-20. Registration is now open. Visit southerngardensymposium.org for details.

Have the blues all weekend

The Kenny Neal Family & Friends Blues Hwy. 61 Music Festival gears up at 4:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday afternoon. Visit blueshighway61musicfest.info for a music schedule as well as information on other activities. Entry is $25 a carload.

Kids to Park Day

Audubon State Historic Site in St. Francisville will feature the Louisiana Gold Rush at 1 p.m. Saturday as part of National Kids to Parks Day. In the 1800s, Louisiana had its own mini gold rush, and Oakley Plantation was a part of it. Visit the historic site to learn more about it and to pan for gold. Participants can tag social media posts at Kids to Parks Day events with #KidsToParks, #BuddyBison or #NatParkTrust to be entered into prize drawings.  

Computer class set for beginners 

The Audubon Regional Library will have a Beginner Computer Class at the Jackson branch at 10:30 a.m. May 26. Attendees can bring their own device or use a library computer. Call (225) 634-7408 to sign up. Class size is limited.

  • A Fly In and Young Eagles event will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 16 at Feliciana Airpark in Jackson. Call (225) 405-8901 for information.
  • The St. Francisville Area Foundation Junior Golf Tournament is at The Bluffs on June 3-7. Volunteers are needed. Visit volunteersignup.org/HXY87?classic to sign up for time slots and job duties.
  • The new head golf pro at The Bluffs is holding a Junior Golf Camp for ages 5-12. The first session starts June 18 and the second starts July 23. Call the Pro Shop at (225) 634-5757 to register.
  • On June 20, the Better Business Bureau of South Central Louisiana will hold its annual Parish to Parish Luncheon in St. Francisville. The chambers of commerce for East and West Feliciana parishes are involved. Visit facebook.com/events/524059061321425/ for details.
