Feliciana team nabs Hoop Dreams title _lowres

Photo provided by Karen Sims -- The Feliciana Dream basketball team from East Feliciana Parish won first place in the Hoop Dreams tournament in Pensacola, Florida, July 17-19. A Feliciana basketball team defeated the Pensacola Elite team to place first in a regional tournament.

The Feliciana Dream basketball team, composed of junior varsity and varsity players from East Feliciana High School, traveled to Pensacola, Florida, to compete in the Hoop Dreams regional tournament in July.

About 30 teams from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee competed.

“We got the job done and brought home the first-place trophy,” player Dedrick Lee said.

The Feliciana Dream team finished the summer season 7-3.

“I’m very excited about the upcoming high school season; traveling to play against competition from other states gave us a lot of confidence and experience,” East Feliciana coach Adrian Dunn said.
