Silliman senior wins baseball scholarship _lowres

Silliman pitcher Darian Tunstall signed a scholarship May 7 to play baseball for Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit.

Tunstall amassed a 9-2 overall record and earned run average of 1.242 with 94 strikeouts while pitching in 62 innings this season for the Wildcats.

After Silliman’s May 14 Mississippi Association of Independent Schools’ Class AA championship win, Tunstall’s batting average increased to .430 with 34 runs batted in and seven home runs.

He is the son of Erin Young and Pat Tunstall, who attended the signing ceremony along with Silliman Administrator Ann Kent, baseball Coach John Ryan Beauchamp and Assistant Coach Justin LeBlanc.
