Staff and residents of the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson held a Mardi Gras parade for residents Feb. 5.

Gathering at one end of the hall, the parade proceeded down a hallway lined with veterans and ended in the day room, where Dixon Correctional Institute’s Final Mission Band performed.

Dressed in Mardi Gras attire, participants threw beads and candy and were assisted by the Zachary Taylor Post 3784 Ladies Auxiliary. Following the parade, veterans were served jambalaya, fried chicken and fish and king cake.
