Model trains and vintage automobiles were the focus of the Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroaders’ annual October Trainfest held Saturday at the Republic of West Florida Museum in Jackson.
The model railroaders club had several different indoor and outdoor working model train displays set up, including a live steam display with steam-powered model locomotives.
The Red Stick Model A Club members drove six vehicles to Jackson, including a 1930 Model A pickup and a 1915 Brass Model T. Two of the vehicles displayed were a 1928 Model A sedan and a 1929 Model A roadster. The model railroaders provided a free lunch for everyone attending the annual event.
There are about 45 members of the railroaders’ club, which holds model train demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at the museum grounds in Jackson.
