What a busy week in East Feliciana. There were battles, blowouts, parades and queens — the parish was buzzing with activity.

A battle at Centenary Inn, blowout in Wildcat Stadium, parade through the courthouse square ... ahhh, yes, fall is in the air.

Here, there and yonder, residents are gearing up for the ultimate fall festivity — Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween, what are your plans during this beautiful fall weather? What events will get you out of the house?

I’ll put together a fall, festivals and harvest calendar of events, so send me anything concerning corn mazes, costume contests, hay rides, haunted houses, pumpkin patches, tricks or treats or scariest co-worker contests.

Halloween at the House

Trick-or-treating will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at Centenary Historic Site in Jackson, 3522 College St.

Visitors are invited to the Professor’s House for goodies, which will be handed out by costumed guides during the town of Jackson’s official trick-or-treating. Also learn about the history of the site at the same time by touring the historic Professor’s House.
