About 70 East Feliciana Parish youths attended Vacation Bible School from July 20-24 in Jackson hosted by Ethel and Jackson United Methodist churches.

The children engaged in Bible stories, prayer, arts and crafts, games, skits, songs, puppet shows, team lessons and character-building activities centered around the theme “G-Force: God’s Love in Action.”

A fundraising effort during VBS week had the boys raising $118 and the girls bringing in $117 for a $235 donation to MacDonell Children’s Services in Houma, a residential home for children whose circumstances leave them in need of a safe, loving and nurturing environment.

Also, the youth collected 297 pounds of canned goods and nonperishable food items for the Jackson food bank, Helping in His Name.

Church and parent volunteers assisted in the weeklong event.
