Registrar of voters offices have been visiting communities throughout the state urging residents to register to vote or update their voter registration cards by Sept. 23 in time for the Oct. 24 primary election.
Bobbie G. Ross, registrar of East Feliciana Parish, said eligible voters ages 17 and older can register at geauxvote.com, the Registrar of Voters Office at 11048 Bank St. in Clinton, and at any Office of Motor Vehicles location, public assistance agencies, schools or libraries.

Medical records available for patients of late Dr. DeJohn
Patients of the late Dr. Michael A. DeJohn, of either the Baker or the Clinton office, can retrieve their medical files at 11315 Liberty St., Clinton, across from the courthouse. Medical records can be retrieved by appointment only between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays.

Memorial rodeo planned this weekend
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the Dan Klein Memorial Rodeo begins at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday on Gross Road in Clinton.
Advance tickets cost $8 and can be purchased in Clinton, Jackson and Zachary.
A pet adoption, petting zoo and barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping and more will be held at the event. All proceeds from concession sales will benefit the McManus Volunteer Fire Department.

Council on Aging events planned for week
The East Feliciana Parish Council on Aging, 11102 Bank St. in Clinton, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Most activities for seniors start at 11 a.m.; lunch is served at noon.
East Feliciana Public Transit offers transportation Monday through Friday to East Baton Rouge Parish for the elderly.

Public Lands Day at Centenary, Port Hudson
Louisiana’s Office of State Parks is partnering with the National Environmental Education Foundation for National Public Lands Day on Sept. 26.
Visitors to Louisiana state parks and historic sites are encouraged to participate in this annual nationwide event geared toward the appreciation and preservation of local public parks and outdoor recreation. Entrance fees to all state parks and historic sites will be waived for the day.
Scheduled events at Centenary State Historic Site, 3522 College St., in Jackson, include a volunteer cleanup effort for the rose garden, cemetery trail and East Wing Dormitory areas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At Port Hudson State Historic Site, 236 U.S. 61 in Jackson near Zachary, a cleanup day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Volunteers, with the assistance of park staff, will spend the day cleaning up the 6.5 miles of trails, and removing litter and rubbish from the banks of Foster’s Creek. Rubber gloves and trash bags will be provided, and all are encouraged to attend.
National Public Lands Day began in 1994 with three federal agencies and 700 volunteers. Last year, 175,000 volunteers worked in more than 2,100 locations in every state.
Visions church anniversary to be celebrated Sept. 27
The Rev. Cary Payton Jr., Tracy Payton and the Visions Family Worship Center, 1837 La. 10, Jackson, will celebrate the church’s anniversary beginning at 4 p.m. Sept. 27. The Rev. Robert L. Scott Jr., pastor of Nathaniel Baptist Church in Centreville, Mississippi, will serve as the special guest.
Everyone is invited to help celebrate another year for the church.
