Two area students have received Honor and Integrity awards from St. Albans Masonic Lodge No. 28, Free & Accepted Masons of Jackson.

Jamie Leggett and Madalyn Peterson were honored in the Oct. 9 ceremony that included dinner for the students, their families and friends prior to awards presented by Worshipful Master Willie Metz.

The Honesty and Integrity awards are part of the Masonic fraternity’s program to recognize honesty and integrity in the lives of local youth, said guest speaker East Feliciana Clerk of Court David Dart.

Each lodge chooses its own students according to grades, dependability, participation, responsibility and how they interact with other students and teachers.

Peterson, of Norwood, is a junior at Centreville Academy and attends Norwood Baptist. She has plans to attend college at University of Louisiana at Monroe and pursue a career in radiologic technology.
