Under a cloudless sky and bright sun, paradegoers gathered in Wilson for a Mardi Gras parade on Fat Tuesday.

Floats, trucks, trailers, ATVs and horses proceeded along the parade route with Lamar Bridges and Tanya Adams leading the way as the Mardi Gras king and queen.

Dixon Correctional Institute’s Final Mission Band performed tunes until well after the last float had passed.

Concessions such as funnel cakes and cocoa were sold to paradegoers, who danced, ate and passed a good time.
