Four people are dead in two separate incidents reported in East Feliciana Sunday.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, East Feliciana Sheriff's deputies were called to a wooded area near the intersection of Nesom Road and Highway 63 by a woman who reported seeing something suspicious, said Sheriff Jeff Travis.

The deputies found a body, which was in the woods but could be seen from the road, Travis said.

Travis called the situation a "suspicious death."

Around 5:30 p.m., the bodies of three people were found at a house on Plank Road just over the parish line said Greg Phares, chief deputy of the East Feliciana Sheriff's Office.

The incident was reported less than an hour after a man was fatally shot outside the Crossroad's Grocery Store and gas station at the intersection of Plank Road and Main Street in Zachary.

Zachary Police Chief David McDavid said the shooting was the result of a fight by the gas pumps. He also said he would not rule out if the shooting was connected to the Plank Road deaths in East Feliciana, but declined further comment since the scene of that incident is not in his jurisdiction.

More information to come.
