Centreville Academy students competed in the MAIS Reading Fair, held at Amite School Center, on Dec. 5.

The students dressed as characters from their favorite books and gave presentations on the books to the judges.

Winners were chosen from each grade level.

FIRST GRADE: First place, Anniston Dickey, Linley McNabb and Halle Rainwater; second place, Keaton Ford, Denslea Mizell and Aiden Womble.

SECOND GRADE: First place, Madison Holifield and Kayla Vanderford; second place, Karaline Vanderford, Maggie Sterling and Martina Nimo.

THIRD GRADE: First place, Madison Horne, Abbie Shell and Madeline Tomb; second place, Abby Smith, Mary Gibson Greene and Cache Ryan; third place Emma Compton, Makenna Robinson and Connor Perkins.

FOURTH GRADE: First place, Tanner Shorey, Mackenzie Payne and Emma McNabb; second place, Sydni Cruise and Kelcei Harvey; third place, John Austin Sterling and Hayden Ford.

SIXTH GRADE: First place, Koben Lambert, Owen Clark and Carson Vineyard; second place, Lillian Nettles, Jase Allen and India Kirkland.

SEVENTH GRADE: First place, Carley Milliken, Lexlea Sterling and Emma Bieker.

EIGHTH GRADE: Second place, Milloree Brown, Sarah McKey and Lana Dalton.

First and second place winners will compete in the State Reading Fair held at the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl, Mississippi on Jan. 26.
