Quad Area Head Start in Clinton recently recognized two of its students — Aiden Elkins, 3, and Jaqueline McCullough, 4, — as Students of the Month for October.

Aiden, a Hammond native, is the son of Amber Beech, of Clinton.

His favorite book is “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss.

Aiden said he is happiest when playing outside with his toys.

What he likes most about school is learning new things and his teacher, Mildred Sopsher.

Jaqueline said her favorite book is the “Frozen” Read-Along Storybook.

She admires her mother most, Calandria McCullough, and lives in Clinton, where she spends her time playing with her sisters.

Jaqueline, an avid reader, enjoys reading the books at school and at the Clinton Library.

Sopsher, who teaches both students, said they were recognized for their outstanding performance during October and for earning excellent marks in cognitive, language, physical and social skills.

Quad Area Head Start is a free preschool program that serves 3- to 4-year-olds in East Feliciana Parish.
