Sweet potato sale
The East Feliciana Parish 4-H Foundation is selling 40-pound boxes of sweet potatoes for $22 a box. Orders are due by Friday and must be paid for with a check or money order.

Boy Scout Troop 61 will be selling jambalaya dinners from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday behind town hall in St. Francisville. Meals are $7 a plate and include jambalaya, white beans, salad and dessert. The money will help the Scouts attend summer camps in Arkansas and Minnesota. No tickets. Meals are first-come, first-served.

Cat Island visit
Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Cat Island are hosting a three-hour bus tour of the refuge Nov. 11. Visitors can bird watch, explore trails, photograph wildlife and enjoy the wetlands. The bus will leave from the Bank of St. Francisville at 8:30 a.m. and drop visitors at the Big Cypress Tree Trail. It will leave the trail's parking lot at noon to return to the bank. Space is limited for the free trip. Reserve a spot by calling (601) 442-6696.
Time travel events
The Audubon State Historic Site at Oakley Plantation is offering a look at two time periods.
At 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, "The Thunder of Cannons, 1810" will demonstrate cannons and uniforms from the period. There will be chances to load and fire yourself.
At 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, "A Roar of Muskets, The Civil War," will offer a similar experience with muskets.
Both events are for ages 16 and older. Standard fees apply.

A Book and Gift Fair will be from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.Wednesday and Thursday in the West Wing Conference Room on the first floor.
