PacTec Inc., of Clinton, recently presented the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department with a large donation of custom fire gear.
“We have recently discontinued the sale of our line of fire gear products and felt there wasn’t a more deserving group than our local volunteer fire department,” said Mike Schilling, PacTec president and CEO.
The donation, valued at more than $6,000, includes four pallets of gear bags, fire ladder pads, mask bags and more.
“It’s encouraging to receive this support from community-minded local businesses like PacTec,” Capt. Bill Ford said.
PacTec CFO Rodney Terral presented the equipment to the firefighters Oct. 26.
“These guys give of their time and energy every day for this community, and it’s rewarding to work for a company that thanks them in this way,” Terral said.
The all-volunteer department has 18 active members, with three serving as emergency medical technicians, and conducts monthly training sessions to stay current on the latest firefighting techniques and use of fire and rescue equipment.
Four of the department’s members have more than 25 years of service.
