Silliman Institute crowned senior Maggie Bishop, 17, as its 2015 homecoming queen Oct. 16.
During a ceremony prior to the Wildcats’ game against Ben’s Ford, the Silliman senior maids and their escorts were presented to fans, family, friends and the student body.
Bishop, a cheerleader and the daughter of Spencer and Luann Bishop, of Slaughter, was escorted by Wildcat football player John Dylan Cook.
Maids included Fallon Hutchinson, escorted by Will Douglas; Abby Kent, with Michael Beauchamp; Allie Ann Newstrom, with Jacob Hodges; Kari Overland, with Brian Siebert; Maddie Trahan, with Zach Kelly; and Callie Venable, with Cole Jackson.
Crown bearers were Ryan Gayle and Abigail Templet.
Following the presentation, Baton Rouge Police Officer Jeremy Guidry and son Brian piloted softball coach Trae Weaver and the assistant coaches onto the field in a helicopter, delivering the game ball to the state champion softball squad.
The Lady Wildcats greeted the chopper, accepted the ball from Weaver and handed it off to the Wildcats before their 5-0 shutout over Ben’s Ford.
