Clinton Mayor Lori Ann Bell decided to do something a little different for the town’s office Christmas party this year.

Instead of exchanging gifts with each another, she and her staff decided to do a toy drive for the children in the community.

The children that received the gifts were chosen by school officials. Town leaders sent each school a letter asking the faculty to choose a deserving child.

Vendors were asked to donate, and Bell said she was impressed with the response.

“I was overwhelmed with the amount of support received from the businesses, churches, members of the community and, my staff,” Bell said.

Bell thanked everyone for their donations and, for joining to make the town’s first toy drive a success.
