Acadiana Racing, promoter of motocross, off-road dirt-bike and ATV and UTV racing will host a Louisiana Cross Country two-day racing event Saturday and Sunday at Springhill Plantation on Carruth Road in Wilson.
Acadiana Racing started in 2009 the LACC series, which has grown into a race series featuring more than 200 riders per event with a 700-plus rider database including many out-of-state racers.
Saturday races for ATVs and UTVs will begin with practices at 8 a.m. The last race starts at 4 p.m.
Sunday’s 8 a.m. start time is for youth and women’s divisions. The main racing event, featuring 14 classes, begins at 11 a.m.
Trophies will be awarded.
Primitive camping is allowed, and gate opens Friday at 5 p.m. but closes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Musket demonstrations held
On Saturdays and Sundays at Port Hudson State Historic Site in Jackson, Musket Demonstrations are held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Visitors can watch demonstrations of various Civil War small arm weapons and hear about the experiences of the riflemen from either the Union or Confederate armies.

Jazzy Night planned
The East Feliciana Drug and Alcohol Awareness Council is hosting its fourth annual Jazzy Night in the Felicianas fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at 12024 Liberty Road (La. 67) in Clinton.
The nonprofit council works to educate children and families about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco use, providing families with information to make smarter choices.
This is the council’s main fundraiser. All proceeds provide for speakers for events and field trips for East Feliciana students.
A buffet dinner, musical entertainment, a silent auction and door prizes will be featured.
Auction items and door prizes are needed. Any business or person making a donation will be recognized and listed on event program, and all merchandise will be on display throughout the event.
Tickets are $50 per person or $240 for a table of eight.

The East Feliciana Ministers Conference will hold a parishwide revival from Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. nightly at Pine Grove Baptist Church on La. 412 in Slaughter.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Michael A. Otkins Sr.
COA slates activities
The East Feliciana Council on Aging, 11102 Bank St., in Clinton is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Most activities start at 11 a.m.; lunch is served at noon.
East Feliciana Parish Public Transit offers transportation on weekdays Monday through Friday to East Baton Rouge Parish.
