Centreville Academy students competed in the MAIS State Reading Fair in Pearl, Mississippi, on Jan. 26. 

Seventh-graders Emma Bieker, Lexlea Sterling and Carley Milliken placed first in the Fiction Group.

Other top finishers included:

FIRST GRADE: Anniston Dickey, Halle Rainwater, and Linley McNabb placed second in both Fiction Group and Fiction Group Best Portrayal of Character.

THIRD GRADE: Mary Gibson Greene, Cache Ryan, and Abby Smith placed third in Fiction Group.

FOURTH GRADE: Mackenzie Payne, Tanner Shorey, and Emma McNabb placed third in Nonfiction Group Best Portrayal of Character.

SIXTH GRADE: Owen Clark, Carson Vineyard, and Koben Lambert placed second in Fiction Group Best Portrayal of Character and third in Fiction Group.
