The Feliciana Animal Welfare Society has a special foster puppy named Loretta who is waiting to be found by a loving, forever family, said FAWS volunteer Gail Dellafiora.

“While in foster care, Loretta has thrived and is now a house-trained, indoor/outdoor puppy,” Dellafiora said.

“She is living a life of leisure with her temporary parents and several large dog pals. She likes to hang out in the shade with a rawhide chew treat.”

Loretta was rescued at an early age, after being left to starve in a remote location and was emaciated.

The Feliciana Animal Welfare Society is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent animal suffering and pet overpopulation in East Feliciana.

FAWS is a network of foster homes primarily located in the communities of Clinton, Ethel, Jackson, Norwood, Slaughter and Wilson.

Adoption fees are $40 to $125 for canines and $40 for felines.
