The Jackson Tourist Enhancement Committee is hosting its annual plant swap and sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30 at the Feliciana Veterans Memorial site on La. 10 in Jackson.

The committee needs plant clippings, bulbs, trees — anything that grows — to donate to the memorial and encourages East Feliciana Parish residents to clean out and trim their flowerbeds.

Plantings can be dropped off to Audrey Faciane at the East Feliciana Chamber of Commerce, 1752 High St., or to the Milbank House, 3045 Bank St., both in Jackson.

For donation pickups, call Faciane at the chamber at (225) 634-7155 or (225) 634-7470.

Additionally, the Louisiana Veterans Home in Jackson has partnered with JTEC to install the Feliciana Veterans Memorial. Remembrance bricks will be sold at the plant sale to honor soldiers or to remember veterans.

For $35 per brick, four lines of print (up to 11 letters per line) can be engraved with a veteran’s name, military branch and service information.

The bricks are tax-deductible and can be purchased by calling the chamber office or filling out a form at the Veterans Home.

Once engraved, the bricks will be placed around the memorial site. For information, call J.L. Hendrickson at (225) 634-7951.
