The North Oaks Sports Medicine team and North Oaks Physician Group orthopaedic surgeons in Hammond have chosen Kristen Favalora, Jessica Gregoire, William Rogers and Hunter Stanley as the 2014-15 Student-athletes of the Year.
The student-athletes were chosen through an online poll .
Favalora is an honor graduate and valedictorian of the Hammond High Magnet School Class of 2015. She had perfect attendance for every practice and game during her four years on the volleyball team, which she co-captained in her senior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Key Club. Favalora plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University.
Gregoire, a 2015 honor graduate of Springfield High School, participated in softball as catcher and captain, as well as volleyball, for four years and was a cheerleader for two years. She graduated with a 3.8 grade-point average and was involved in Beta Club; the Outdoors Club; ProStart; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; Future Business Leaders of America; and Future Farmers of America. Gregoire will attend Southeastern Louisiana University.
Rogers, a 2015 honors graduate of Springfield High School, played guard and defensive tackle on the Bulldogs football team and pitcher and first baseman on the baseball team. In his senior year, he served as captain of the football team and earned honorable mention in district baseball. He maintained a 4.2 grade-point average and was named to the first team All-District, All-Parish and All-State as a guard. He participated in Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served as senior class president of the Student Government Association. Rogers plans to attend Louisiana Tech University.
Stanley will be a senior this fall at St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School in Hammond. He has played football and baseball for three years. He holds a 4.0 grade-point average and is involved in Beta Club, the National Honor Society and the Ambassadors Club.
