  • PLAY IT SAFE: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cate Square Park, 200 W. Charles St., Hammond. Join North Oaks for Play It Safe — an interactive safety event. The goal of Play It Safe is to increase safety awareness through education, demonstrations and activities for families with children ages 12 and under.
  • GNARBQ: noon to 5 p.m., Gnarly Barley Brewing Co., 1709 Corbin Road, Hammond. Food Network Star finalist Jay Ducote will be preparing the barbecue, and Will Vance and The Kinfolk provide the music. Admission is $20. A plate of food cooked by Jay Ducote and a commemorative snifter glass filled with Imperial Korova Milk Porter. Additional beer will be available to purchase and drink on site or buy bottles of Imperial Korova to go.
