Tickets are now on sale for the Holiday Chef’s Evening and Wine Tasting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Denham Springs Antiques & Arts Village. Local restaurants, caterers and wine servers will set up in downtown shops and serve their food and wine samples to ticket holders. Tickets can be purchased at Old City Hall, 115 Mattie St.

Old City Hall is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 per person. Call (225) 667-7512 for information. Chef’s Evening is presented by Denham Springs Main Street volunteers. Proceeds are used in many projects that help preserve and promote the downtown district, according to a news release from organizers.

Christmas parade

The Springfield Christmas parade has been changed to Dec. 4. Line up will be at 5:30 p.m. at AMVETS, located at the corner of La. 42 and La. 43. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas concert

The Livingston Parish Children’s Choirs will present the 24th annual Christmas Concert starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 34890 La. 16, Watson. The concert will feature the Apprentice Choir, made up of children from kindergarten through third grade; the Chorus, for children from fourth grade through high school; and the Chorale, the auditioned touring choir made up of children in fourth through 12th grades. Tickets are for sale online at www.lpccsing.org under the events page. A free nursery will be provided during the concert for children under 4 years of age. Santa in the Park

The city of Walker will present Santa in the Park and Christmas tree lighting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 at Sidney Hutchinson Park, 13730 Ball Park Road.

‘Winter Wonderland’

The sixth annual St. Joseph Catholic Church “Winter Wonderland” Food Festival: A Taste of French Settlement will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at the church, 15710 La. 16, French Settlement.

For $7 per plate, those attending can select from sauce patate, jambalaya, pork loin, hot wings, seafood fettuccine and a large selection of side dishes. There also will be food from local restaurants and a Sweet Shop with homemade candy, cookies and cakes. The Rev. Jason’s Christmas Village will be on display and will feature more than 450 pieces. The event will include more than 40 craft booths, activities for children, entertainment and a classic car and truck show.

Carter Plantation Christmas

The Historic Carter House Society Inc. will hold a Christmas Open House from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 13-14. The public is invited to tour the plantation house and see each room decorated in holiday décor from past and present. Santa Claus will be at the open house. Those attending can learn about the history of the National Register house, built 1817–1820.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 per person or $10 per family. All tickets sold will be entered in a drawing to win a prize. Proceeds will go toward preservation and restoration of the Carter House, the only plantation still standing in Livingston Parish.
