State Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Denham Springs, has been selected as a National Security Eagle Award recipient by ACT for America, a news release said.

The award will be presented at the sixth annual National Conference and Legislative Briefing on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.

ACT for America, a national security-focused grass-roots advocacy organization, gives the awards to people who strive to work at the local, state and federal level to assure the safety of the nation, a news release said.

Hodges was nominated for her work to honor the nation’s Constitution and the protections it affords.

“It is an honor to be a National Security Eagle Award recipient, and to have my work, as a state legislator to uphold high levels of safety for our country, be recognized on a national level,” Hodges said.
