The Relay for Life of Livingston Parish raised more than $30,000 for cancer during its annual event April 11 at Denham Springs High School.
About 15 teams and more than 300 people showed up to support cancer research during the six-hour event.
During Relay For Life, Livingston Parish residents came together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight for a cure.
Relay For Life teams took turns walking or running around the track during the event.
Teams also sold food items and held games such as “lockup,” which holds participants in “jail” until someone pays his or her “bond” to help raise money for cancer.
