The Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization is accepting applications for 2015 scholarship recipients. The annual Women Mean Business Conference funds the scholarships, a news release from the TPW said.
This will be the third year the organization will award scholarships. Any female residents of the parish entering higher education or those enrolled at a university, college, vocational school or technical college can apply, the release said.
“Last year, $8,000 was awarded to eight local students,” said Suzette Callais, TPW president-elect and scholarship chairwoman. “March 26th is the date for our conference, Women Mean Business, and all sponsorships collected will go towards the scholarship fund.”
TPW is proud of fostering connections between professionals and students who have been inspired to pursue their professional and academic goals, the release said.
The deadline to submit completed applications for the 2015 scholarship is April 15. For details and to download the application, visit www.tangipw.org and click on TPW scholarship.
TPW was developed in 2007 to foster communication and support in businesses for professional women. It later established the scholarship fund, which has contributed more than $18,000 to the educational and professional pursuits of Tangipahoa women.
