The administration and staff asked members of the community to talk with students about their careers, and asked Live Oak High alumni to give students a real-life analysis of life after graduation, a news release from the school said.

“We really feel it is a great opportunity for our students to see what amazing things successful Live Oak alumni are doing in their careers and industry,” said Assistant Principal Stacy Robinson.

Before the event, students choose to hear from more than 60 speakers, from engineering to pharmacy professionals. In addition to the guest speakers, more than 30 colleges, trade schools, career and technical programs, branches of the military and community colleges attended the event to create a college fair, the release said.

Live Oak High students rotated between chosen career presentations and attended the college fair booths, the release said.

Students asked guest speakers questions during small group sessions.

Speakers were treated to lunch, including unique desserts prepared during Live Oak High faculty’s annual departmental bake-off contest.
