The Advocate’s Spotlight Classroom this week is Nicole McElroy’s fifth-grade class at Seventh Ward Elementary School in Denham Springs. The students were asked:

  • If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
  • CADE BAKER: “If I could have a superpower, it would definitely be telekinesis. I could levitate, move things with my mind and blast walls without lifting a finger.”
  • TRAY BROUSSARD: “My superpower would be mind reading. If someone wanted to rob a bank, I could read their mind and stop them.”
  • EMMA CECCHINI: “If I had a superpower, it would be flying. I can go places faster. I could go on missions to help the Earth.”
  • TYLER CHILDRES: “My superpower would be X-ray vision. I would like to see through objects and my foes. I would crush criminals, torment terror and bash bad guys.”
  • JOSEPH DALE: “If I could have a superpower, it would be a kamehameha from ‘Dragon Ball Z.’ I can put my hands together and a fierce blast of energy would shoot out and disintegrate anything.”
  • CONNER DOSS: “My superpower would be to be the fastest person in the world. I could go to Alaska and back in 30 seconds and I could travel the entire world in a day.”
  • LAWSON FILLINGAME: “I would like to have the superpower of flying. I would make a suit and fly everywhere saving people. I would also fly to places I had never been before.”
  • VICTORIA FREDERIC: “My superpower would be invisibility so I can help the cops with bad guys, and sneak up behind my mom and scare her without her noticing.”
  • JUDE GILMORE: “My superpower would be super strength. I could pick up really heavy objects and arm wrestle and win and make a lot of money.”
  • TALON GRAVES: “I would like to have super speed. I would run around the world and prank on my fellow non-supers.”
  • AARON GUITRAU: “I would like my superpower to be the best at football. I would use it to help my team and other people who needed help at football.”
  • MICAH HARRISON: “If I could have a superpower, it would be to be the fastest man in the Milky Way. It would mean I wouldn’t get tired and I would be faster than Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith.”
  • JALAYSIA HAYNES: “My superpower would be to freeze people. It would be cool because I could really freeze someone in the game freeze tag.”
  • AVERY HEARNSBERGER: “I would like my super power to be able to breathe underwater. I could go to the bottom of the ocean and see sharks, whales, dolphins and huge fish.”
  • ISABELLA JOHNSON: “I would love to time travel, because I mess up a lot and need to go back in time and fix it.”
  • CHLOE MCBRIDE: “My superpower would be lightning, because I would want to save the day by striking bad guys with lightning.”
  • HANNAH OZUNA: “If I had a superpower, it would be invisibility, because when you have invisible powers you can spy on people when they are doing stuff. If they are stealing money from their mom’s purse, you can stop them from doing it.”
  • LUKE PIRIE: “If I had a superpower, I would want it to be everything. I would take over the planet so other people would not be crowded in one planet and save people who were in danger.”
  • SUMMER POOLE: “If I had a superpower, it would be curing people and animals of sickness. I would be called Little Lover because I love animals, mainly kittens and puppies.”

  • ROYCE SCHEXSNAYDER: “I would like super strength so if someone is trapped in a building I can get them out faster.”
  • MALAYSIA SCOTT: “My superpower would be teleportation, because I can go places like parties without getting noticed and I could do sneak attacks and go to the store during school.”
  • MATTHEW SHAW: “I would like to be able to cast a spell on people so they can’t die unless the world ends.”
  • MICHAEL SHAW: “My super power would be the ability to act like a spider and shoot webs, which would allow me to help the people in need.”
