U.S. Congressman Garret Graves, of Louisiana’s 6th District, visited students at Denham Springs High School on Nov. 20, speaking to the Advanced Placement U.S. government and politics classes taught by William Bradford.
Graves was invited to the campus by Denham Springs School Board member Buddy Mincey Jr.
Graves answered students’ questions and discussed issues concerning the federal budget, immigration, same-sex marriage, Syrian refugees, the Islamic State, the Keystone pipeline and the slate of Republican presidential candidates, a news release said.
He ate lunch with students in the cafeteria and visited with cafeteria workers as part of the National School Nutrition Association’s Congressional Lunch Challenge.
