Livingston Parish Students Against Destructive Decisions will host its free, annual summer camp June 27 through July 1 at Gray’s Creek Elementary School in Denham Springs.

This year’s theme is “Blast Off Into Safety.”

The camp is for children in first through fifth grades. It emphasizes the importance of living healthy, safe and positive lives and is taught by high school students who are alcohol-, tobacco- and drug-free, a news release said.

Topics include the importance of the human brain; growth and development; decision-making skills; vehicle and bicycle safety; refusal tactics; Internet safety; substance abuse prevention; and character development, a news release said. Skills are taught through age-specific group activities, role playing, structured discussions and parent involvement.

Camp begins at 8 a.m. each morning and ends at noon, except on July 1, when a closing ceremony begins at noon.

Register online at lpsadd.org. Space is limited, and maximum capacity is 100 campers.
