Tab Lobell has announced he is running for the Livingston Parish Council District 8 seat because he said he wants to provide a fresh business-minded perspective to the council.
“I believe it’s time to bring a business approach to the Parish Council while working to represent the unique interests of the families in District 8,” said Lobell. “My community service, as well as my business background, will help me be an effective and responsive parish councilman.”
For the past 18 years, Lobell, 43, of Springfield, has worked in his family’s business, Lobell’s Waterfront Construction.
“Our parish continues to grow,” said Lobell. “I have seen the growth in the lower part of Livingston Parish. As a parish councilman, I can blend this growth with the desires of the local citizens who want their property rights preserved.”
Lobell and his wife, Lynette Gainey Lobell, have two daughters: Miranda is a freshman at Mississippi College and Tabitha attends Springfield Middle School.
The Lobells are members of Blood River Church of God in Springfield.
Lobell, a Republican, is a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University.
“Sports has been an important part of my life and my family’s life,” Lobell said. “While serving on the Parish Council, I will look into ways we can increase funding for our local recreation and sports districts.”
He has served and coached for a number of years in the Springfield Youth Association.
Lobell serves as a Livingston Parish sheriff’s reserve officer. He teaches gun safety classes for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
