Four members of the Wednesday Volunteers for Family and Community assisted with judging the Tangipahoa Parish 4-H Fashion Show/Beef Cookery contest held March 1 at Amite Elementary School.

Each year, 4-H members present their favorite recipes for desserts and beef dishes as well as host a fashion show.

TVFC President Donna Bouterie presented the overall winner, Shaylee Puls, of Hammond High School, a pair of Gingher scissors from TVFC as recognition of her work. TVFC college scholarship applications are now available for graduating seniors, and can be obtained from school counselors. All graduating seniors who plan to attend a Louisiana college or university may apply.

Deadline to apply is in April. TVFC is an all-volunteer arm of the LSU Extension Service in Tangipahoa Parish. Anyone interested in joining the group can call the extension office in Amite at (985) 748-9381.
