North Oaks Sports Medicine and North Oaks Physician Group’s orthopaedic surgeons’ named Student-Athletes of the Month for December.

Student-Athletes of the Month must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, excel in athletic competition, participate in school and community organizations and respect coaches, teammates, officials, teachers and their peers.

In May, male and female Student-Athletes of the Year will be selected from all the monthly honorees for both parishes. Nominations are accepted from coaches, athletic directors, principals and North Oaks Sports Medicine athletic trainers.

Ashlee Stafford, of Oak Forest Academy, Amite

Stafford, 17, is a junior and third-year basketball shooting guard who averages 16 points per game. She is a 4.0 honor roll student and is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Beta Club. Her parents are Dwayne and Kathy Stafford.

Austin Ballow, of Jewel Sumner High School, Kentwood

B allow, 17, has a 3.8 GPA and belongs to the Cowboys’ cross country, track and football teams. He is the kicker on the football team, the Class 3A cross country state champion and was named to the 2015 Tangipahoa Area All-Parish Cross Country First Team and the Louisiana All-Composite Cross Country Team. His parents are Jonah Ballow and Casey Wallace.

Treasure Mansur, of Walker High School

Mansur, 16, is a junior with a 3.75 GPA who has played basketball and volleyball and run track for the Wildcats for three years. She is a starting basketball guard, as well as a starting setter and junior varsity captain for the volleyball team. She belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is the daughter of Kim Mansur.

Cheyenne Labruzza, of Albany High School

Labruzza, 16, is a junior with a 4.1 GPA and has played football for the Fighting Hornets for three years as a running back and defensive back. He has been named First Team All-Parish running back and defensive back, First Team All-District running back and Class 3A All-State defensive back. Labruzza is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Beta Club. His parents are Tracy Parker and Paul Suarez.
