The Greater Hammond Chamber, along with the Amite and Ponchatoula Chambers of Commerce, will host a parish presidential forum at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Southeastern Louisiana University Student Union Ballroom.

Prior to the forum, the chambers will host a meet and greet at 6 p.m. for all political candidates running in the fall 2015 elections.

“The decision of who we elect as our next parish president will have a direct impact on business and industry in our area. As a representative for the business community, it is important for us to provide an outlet for the candidates to present their political platforms to the citizens of our parish,” Governmental Affairs Committee Co-chairman Hart Bordelon said in a news release.

The Greater Hammond Chamber will solicit questions from residents as the forum approaches.

Candidates interested in participating can call the Greater Hammond Chamber at (985) 345-4457.

The Greater Hammond Chamber also will take part in the Northshore Gubernatorial Forum at the Columbia Theatre on Sept. 2. Visit www.hammond chamber.org for information.
