St. Thomas Aquinas grad blasts off to Fla. to work for NASA _lowres

Daniel Huggett, a 2008 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School in Hammond, is moving to Florida to work for NASA.

Huggett has a bachelor of science degree in physics with a minor in mathematics from Southeastern Louisiana University. He is a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering at LSU while working at Kennedy Space Center as a pathways program engineer. His doctoral research focuses on friction stir welding and non-destructive evaluation technology.

He has worked summer internships with the John C. Stennis Space Center and Marshall Space Flight Center.

Huggett is married to Danielle Ferrara Huggett, also a 2008 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas.
