Gov. Bobby Jindal reappointed Alexander “Butch” Martin Jr. to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians, which functions within the Department of Health and Hospitals, licenses, establishes licensing guidelines and regulates licensed sanitarians.

According to statute, the board consists of seven members, including the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of Louisiana State University, the dean of College of Arts and Sciences of Tulane University, the assistant secretary for the Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Health Services and Environmental Quality, and four practicing sanitarians appointed by the governor.

Martin, of Hammond, is a licensed sanitarian and a U.S. Marines Corps veteran.
