The Walker High School special education department attended the fourth annual STARS talent show Feb. 27 at Live Oak High School.
Jessica Bonura, special education teacher at Live Oak High School, organized the event.
Walker was represented by six Walker High students. The Walker Line Dance Group performed to a mix of popular line dance songs. The group included Taylor Lea, Rachel Reynolds, Matthew Hebert, Dalton Flauss, Dakota Flauss and Brody Civello.
It was Lea’s fourth appearance in the STARS talent show. She received a third-place award for her solo performance of Taylor Swift’s “Our Song.”
Dalton Flauss, a senior at Walker High School, sang Creed’s “One” in the solo category and won the STAR Performer’s award.
Civello and Reynolds performed in the duet category. They sang, “You are the Music in Me” and received third place in the duet category. This was Reynolds’ second STARS Talent show and Civello’s third.
Each student received a medal for their performance.
