Pumpkin pizzazz

The Albany-Springfield Branch of the Livingston Parish Library will host a family-friendly, carving-free pumpkin decorating event at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. October 2015 means it’s time for a “Back to the Future” celebration at the Main Branch of the Livingston Parish Library. Activities for all ages begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Professional paranormal investigators will share their stories at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Main Branch of the Livingston Parish Library. This event is for ages 18 and older.

Human Service meeting

Livingston Parish Human Service Coalition’s monthly meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at North Oaks Medical Complex, 17199 Spring Ranch Road, Livingston.

Guest speakers are Misty Searcy, outreach specialist, and Sheree McKinney, RN, from the Bureau of Family Health, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for Region 9. They will talk about the Nurse Family Partnership program.

Women’s group to meet

Tangipahoa Professional Women will meet Oct. 28 at Rosaryville in Ponchatoula. Visitors are welcome to attend.

Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., with lunch and official business at noon. The speaker will be Stephanie Clouatre Davis, OPA, talking about parabolic leadership.

Nonperishable food items will be collected to help feed local families for Thanksgiving. Donations will be accepted until Nov. 12.

Committee seeks singers

Denham Springs’ Christmas in the Village committee is looking for choirs and carolers to participate in different events in the Antique Village District.

Choirs are needed for the lighting of Old City Hall on Nov. 27, Chef’s Evening and Wine Tasting on Dec. 3 and lighting of the Christmas tree on Dec. 10. Carolers are needed for Saturday Music in the Village on Dec. 5 and Dec. 19.
