TEEN ANIME CLUB: 5:30 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M., WATSON BRANCH LIBRARY. DISCUSS ANIME AND MANGA WHILE LEARNING ABOUT JAPANESE CULTURE.

MUSIC STORYTIME & PUPPETS: 6 P.M., DENHAM SPRINGS-WALKER BRANCH LIBRARY. A NIGHT OF STORIES AND MUSIC FOR ALL AGES. EVENT WILL INCLUDE STORIES READ ALOUD, A PUPPET SHOW AND PLENTY OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS FOR KIDS TO EXPLORE AND PLAY.

HARRY POTTER NIGHT: 6 P.M., DENHAM SPRINGS-WALKER BRANCH LIBRARY. A HARRY POTTER-FILLED EVENING THAT INCLUDES WAND MAKING, A GAME OF QUIDDITCH, BUTTERBEER, TRIVIA AND MORE. THIS EVENT IS FOR AGES 12-18.

SATURDAY

  • GRAND COUNTRY JUNCTION: All day, Suma Crossing Theatre, 28975 S. Satsuma Road.
  • LIGO FREE TOURS: All day, LIGO, 19100 LIGO Lane. Get a chance to tour the facility, participate in demonstrations and activities, view a film and experiment with interactive exhibits.
  • CRUISERS ON A MISSION: 8 a.m., Southside Baptist Church, 7548 Vincent Road. Open car show for all cars, trucks, motorcycles of all makes, models and years. There also will be a silent auction and door prizes. Barbecue chicken dinners and soda available for $8. Preregistration is $25 or $30 at the gate. Judging begins at noon, followed by awards between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • HONEYBEE SCIENCE CAMP: 8:30 a.m., North Live Oak, 36605 Outback Road. Cost is $20 cash and includes materials and snacks. Investigate and explore fireflies and chemical reactions.
  • ANNUAL BENEFIT AUCTION: 10 a.m., Blood River Church, 31186 Pea Ridge Road, Albany. All proceeds will go to the church food pantry. There will be food and drinks.
  • ZUMBA CLASS: 12:30 p.m., Albany-Springfield Branch Library. Great workout session for adults.
  • TEEN ANIME CLUB: 3 p.m., Denham Springs-Walker Branch Library. Meetings include previews of anime and manga, as well as snacks, crafts, fan art, fan fiction and more. For ages 12-18.
